    New Blind Build

I needed another permanent bow blind at the ranch so this weekend I decided to throw one together. I had always thought about building on out of fence pickets so that was the plan.

    Standard, stick construction frame.

Next I wrapped the frame with black plastic. This would keep me from having to paint the interior, help keep the blind sealed after the pickets shrink, and maybe hold sent on better.

The pictures pretty much explain it from there.

Looks good. The plastic wrap is a good idea & probably will improve scent control

Looks good. I've been wanting to do same with used pickets.

Looks good. Does the plastic liner hold up good in the wind? Does it make much racket? Looks very simple. I might have to put one like this together. I have plenty of old cider fence panels.

The plastic is actually 8 mil poly wrap. It is very tough. After I got the pickets on the blind, I got all the wrinkles and bunched up spots out on the inside and stapled it down pretty tight. It doesnt make any noise. Being held down with the pickets and by the metal roof, I would guess that is lasts the life of the blind.

What did u use for a floor? Very nice blind...seems like a fairly economic build.

It is heavier than I wanted but two people can get it on and off a trailer. Since I dont plan on moving it after I get it in place, it isnt too bad

It is 6' x 4' and I left the floor open.

Being I already had some 2x4's, I am not sure of the exact cost but I would guess you could build this blind for around $130 less paint. You could cut cost and weight by framing with 2x2's also. I was lazy and didnt feel like tracking down a table saw and ripping the 2x4's down.
