I like it, as long as there is a way that it will not come undone. I like the tooling as well.

Not to my taste, but that does not mean its tacky or ugly. Looks like nice work, I just prefer the stiching to lacing. But I can certainly understand wanting to mix things up a bit, thats a good way to learn new things.
