Default Mini Airboat

Going to build two of these.

https://youtu.be/2Lf-lWRp5xE

Metal came in today so we decided to get started. Went very well, Stick n strin (Ronnie) and I got out in the shop and got busy. Cut the gunnels and transom. Decided to go ahead and tack it together. Specs on the boat are: 4x8 with and 22 hp Predator engine turning a 42 inch carbon fiber prop. Not too bad for four hours of piddling around.

Prop builder thinks they should run 27 mph or so. We'll have $400 or so in each one plus motor and prop.

Not a lot of progress tonight. Lot of fitting. 2 inch pipe nose piece in, squared hull up and started bending floor braces. Got one rub rail laid out.

Coming along... Question, why is there a gap under the front rail piece? I assume that will be covered over by something?

With slope of the front an 8ft sheet on the bottom comes up 3 inches short. There will be a piece spliced in.

You need gas argon to weld alum.
Been thinking about this little boat and how to build it for awhile now.
