He pushed back dance 3 or 4 times... Dance was supposed to come out 6 years ago...

Maybe now that he has gotten past the tough part, he will be faster but his average is a book every 5 years...

Listen... the wheel of time series (mentioned earlier in the thread) was started in the early 1990's... my friend had been waiting for the end of that story.... until the first quarter of this year... 20 years in the making... an author death... and then a flurry finish.

Heh... I love GRRM...

If you are really really jonesing for ideas of what is going on at the wall etc etc etc... go over to the songoficeandfire forums and read up on all those theories...

Go start a R+L = J thread... hehe

I'm really interested to see what he does with the characters that were "left out" of books 4 and 5. The smithy boy who is Robert's *******, Sensa, Benjen, etc. And what of Winterfell? Is the note received at the wall for real? And what's going on with the House of Black and White storyline? It doesn't really play into the "Game Of Thrones" storyline. Yet.

And for those of you who watched last week and wondered how Varys was able to pull off getting the sorcerer responsible for giving him the ability to hit a high C, look no further.

If you're watching the series where does it track in accordance to the books.

I don't have HBO so I haven't seen any of Season 3 but Seasons 1-2 track books one and two fairly tightly. However, I didn't read that a certain two men (in case of spoiler) were secret gays but maybe I'm terrible at reading between the lines.

Heck, I would not be surprised if some of the women aren't gay. Why would dragon girl demand to have the girl given to her along with 8,000 soilders???

That opening scene was badazz!!!!!!! Ouch......the gay stuff was on there tonight! I figured he was a fruitcake but I did not think it was the brothel owner behind it. That ice girl (redhead) has a horrible body.........they coulda found someone better than that. I was glad when they got in the water. Jaime Lannister is a trip!!! I would not trust that dude with a bag of rocks.

I just want to encourage anyone who is interested in reading the books to get a kindle or a nook, because reading the book will make your thumb muscles sore as heck! I love a lot of epic fantasy...got addicted to GOT and it went from there, and then I read/researched the time lag between books and realized I needed some other entertainment.

Atlas shrugged?

How in the heck is a Song of Ice and Fire anything like that self indulgent piece of trash?

There is no good and no evil in Game of Thrones... only varying shades of Grey...

There are no Shades of Grey in Atlas... There are only Good Industrialists and bad Populists.

Downloaded it from audible.com. The first book is 33 hours long. Makes for a good ride to and from the deer lease although the only conversation we have had on the last couple of trips has been, "shush be quiet".

IMO - The hbo series really took of with the whole homosexual thing, not that there is anything wrong with it. The book didnt have open gay activity between Renly/Loras/etc. It mentions it, but leaves some things up to to the readers imagination. The show has taken that to another level then the book did. I think this even played a part in the casting of Loras, in the book Loras is a studly young knight that every girl in the 7 kingdoms dreams about, a young Jaimie Lannister type. I just dont see that with this guy. However - other than Loras, I think they have done an excellent job casting for the series. I think everybody is spot on, even the wildling girl. I didnt think her body was that bad, especially for a wildling.

Yessir. Good book. Everything came together nicely. I'm super busy at work and got a free box of Jack Reacher novels in the mail. But I will probably keep reading the rest of them.

Is the HBO series brand new? Are there DVDs available for rental anywhere? There's a couple characters that I need to put a face/body with a name if you know what I mean.
