Default Oil and Gas Investing.. Gauging Interest..

Hey my TBH brothers and sisters!! As some of you know I was laid off in May and am looking to get into something with a fellow geologist I've known since undergraduate school. In that aspect, I have also gotten in touch with a gentleman that is willing to train me on becoming an independent geologist in return, I help him sell working interest in some of his prospects. What I am doing my TBH brethren is, would anyone be interested in investing with a proven oil finder at a relatively cheap rate? I also have a production package that I could sell if anyone is interested. If your interested and would like more information, please feel free to ask or pm me! Have a great day y'all!!

I got burned some years back in buying an "interest" in an oil deal - the geologist was a good friend who sold it to me - my advice is be careful before you write a check

it is very rare that anyone with a "great find" in oil and gas would sell shares to individual investors....why on earth would they?? if you have a producer it is easy to get capitol for further investments.

if you get a small interest in a well it will be very difficult to pay off as the terms will be best for the seller and as soon as you get close they will need to work-over the well and you are back in the red.

be smart with your money.

I have invested in independent oil and gas wells for many years. A lot more information is needed to get properly funded. Interested in learning more.

First questions do you have current seismic data. Location, What depth are your target zones. Lease and royalties data?

As in any investment you should investigate it thoroughly, understand what you are investing into and not just go on someone else's word. The reason I say this is because I have made this mistake a couple,of times over the years.

oil and gas companies taking small partners has been a practice since the beginning of independents.

Lots of money has been made and lost.

Exploration is risky, it can be highly profitable. Everyone's risk profile is different.

I agree and I have the information.
1.) No, I do not have 3D. These projects are put together by a known oil finder.
2.) target depths vary depending on each project. What I have available is ~5000'.
3.)The land and mineral rights are leased. Royalties are reserved for mineral owners.

One key thing to consider is this: Make sure you're investing in the lease and/or prospect as opposed to an individual well.

I've seen it happen where individual investors fund a significant portion of the first well in a prospect, and if that well is good then the individual investors are left out of any additional drilling on the lease or in the prospect area.

In my opinion, anyone taking the risk of drilling the first well on a lease should also enjoy the upside of knowing there are more wells to drill in a success scenario.

Best of luck to you haas0311. As Encinal said, most independents raise funds to get prospects drilled from various sources. Drilling and production costs are expensive and hard for any one entity to fund. Today's economics make it even harder to raise money but the potential reward is still there. Investors should always due their due diligence.

Hope your well(s) comes in as expected and everyone makes money.

Thanks bud! I am just the seller at this point. I hope to be generating prospects in the near future but we'll see. I am still looking for a job where I can get benefits but this type of work is something I would love to do all the time and I absolutely agree that doing ones due diligence is a must with any investment!

On the production data that I'm selling, the seller would like to stress that this is NOT a distressed sale. There is no debt associated with this data!

I might add what I had happen to me - bought in and they "hit" some oil with water mixed - came back and asked for more $$ from investors in order to drill more and deeper with the inference we were close to "hitting a good well" - Ended up capping the well and investors got zero - the promoter/geologist got his money though.

Not saying that will happen here but you will never see me invest in one again. Risk is ultra high
