Seems woodpeckers are a problem with TC PIRs. I have a theory. All our cameras with round PIR's (Leaf River, Moultrie, Cuddeback) have been attacked by woodpeckers. None of them that have rectangular PIR's have been attacked. Coincidence? I think not as we have a bunch of each type out there. If this is true, I bet a fix would be to overlay or surround the PIR's with a square or rectangular false PIR to change the appearance to a woodpecker. Might solve some problems and keep cameras from being torn up if my theory is true.

I'm going back to the Junco. I'm trying to get that buck videoed and am running out of time. I'm spend the next month at San Angelo, probably and won't hunt the Junco again til December and I imagine that buck will either be broken up or on someone else's list. Alas, we do have a mid50's clean 12 found, no slick.
These woodpeckers are and have always been, slick. Here's a pic. He's looking really hard at my 390, but never pecked it.

Yep. I videoed him last week and Bower had him videoed this past weekend. He looks bigger from the ground. I think mid 50's and may be bigger than he wants. If so, I may go after him if the buck I'm after doesn't cooperate. He's there almost every night. Was there before dark last week, but I was in Houston that day. Got a lot more pics of him.
Here he is during daylight. I have a lot of daylight pics of him over the last couple months. Just a matter of getting some deer movement. Hope it happens this week.
