    Competition beans-question

I am cooking in the Irving Elks Lodge BBQ comp at the end of the month. I've never cooked in one before so this will be the first of what I'm sure will be several questions.

There is a jackpot beans category and I plan to enter. What are they looking for? A buddy told me that they don't want to see any chunks of anything, only beans. Is that true? Any other pointers?

Depends on the sanctioning body. Some sanctions require that no ingredient in the turn-in cup is larger than a bean. Sweet is no good.
