    Jaw bone age

    Can someone help me out here?
    REALLY wanting to know the age of this buck I killed. I plan on sending it in but would like to see what y'all say. Thanks alot.

    My guess 6.5+

    No help on aging but is it normal for one side to show SO MUCH MORE wear then the other?

        Have no idea. Idk how to do a jaw bone age but from game cam pics before I harvested him I believe he is 6.5+

          I'd say 5.5 or 6.5. Never seen such different wear so its harder to say.

            It's always hard to tell, but from the pictures it doesn't seem that he is any older than 5.5. A 6.5yr old buck will typically have worn tooth #4 basically all the way down and you start to see a "dished out" appearance. If I had to age these teeth, I would say 4.5-5.5yrs, probably 5.5. Again, this is based off typical teeth wear for deer. It's always hard to tell by teeth. Did you have history of this buck for several years to know that he was 6.5yrs?

              No no history. But most of the guys were thinking 5.5 6 and some saying older
