Default Engagement question. Ring or no ring?

I'm going to drop the question sometime around Christmas and I'm trying to decide if I should get her an engagement ring or not.

This will be second marriages for both of us and her last ring was just a wedding band.

Anyone else here not give her an engagement ring and if not, what did you give her?

I'm pretty sure its the industry standard is to get her a ring. You should start putting those fellers out now if she wants it or not. My wife and I kinda just decided to get married. We never messed with an engagement ring, we were broke azz kids, lol. We have now been married for almost 15 years and still going strong. Good luck sir.

Id rather have a ring and her decide she only wants one, than to ask, and not have one at all.

Don't get her one and I bet you will for sure get one for your third marriage.

I asked and didn't have a ring. She was getting me, why would she need a ring?

Honestly I didn't have a ring, because I wanted the perfect ring for her and I wanted her to pick it out. She chose much bigger and more expensive than I would have picked.

Shoulda known this was going to happen lol

I went with 2 rings... But I know lots who only did one... All depends on the girl...

I'll be honest if your that far in relationship she knows it's coming. Just ASK what she prefs... Your still going to be able to surprise her if your any kind of sneaky

I haven't been in that situation, but I would think an engagement ring would be appropriate even for a second marriage. That is unless you guys have agreed on something else based on prior marriages. I don't know a woman alive who doesn't like diamond and gold who wouldn't want an engagement ring.

I am definitely on better to be safe than sorry - "go with a ring" side....No ring and she may be offended/po'd and that is a rough way to start out a marriage.....but on the other hand, if you ask her and give her a high end rifle and she is giddy about that, well, Sir, you have a winner!!

If you want to prove you are serious and are looking to a long life together, a ring is the way to go.

If you're just in it for temporary, no ring will get you there faster.

No rings for me and Alecia. Second marriage for both of us. I asked her if she wanted one and she said no maybe later on. We got rings for our 10th anniversary. Mine has been on my finger once.

She didn't want an engagement ring, just a wedding band and a 1 caret diamond solitaire ring on or before our 5th anniversary. Well, it took until number 7 before she got the solitaire, but she got it and was happy. We had our 25th anniversary back in February.

I hate and absolutely despise the idea of rings. IMO it’s money wasted on a useless object that could be much better spent anywhere else. That being said I think you’d be a fool to not get her a pretty decent ring unless she specifically states she doesn’t want one.

I’m finding a lot of women don’t want engagement rings. That’s what I’m hearing, but I’m kinda old fashioned and was thinking a ring. She’s a very practical woman though. I guess I’ll leave it up to her.

As long as she doesn’t lose the diamond in it throwing sacks of corn at me while filling feeders!

My wife wanted a thick band. I bought her 1 ring with a single diamond for engagement and wedding. As our lives have changed over the last 30 years, I have been adding to it. I see something I like I just have it added to her ring. I changed the diamond out (made a necklace for 1st grand daughter) and got her a little bigger diamond. Nice ring guards just get moved from the small band and added to hers etc. It is definately a one of a kind. She is the most practical person I have ever met. As a matter of fact I told her I married her because she was cheaper than me!

My wife’s ring came as two pieces. One smaller band for engagement and another with a diamond for wedding. Once married, you take it to jeweler and they join them.

Ring. It's a huge decision for us, but the ring is also a big deal for the bride to be.

All of her friends and family will be interested in the engagement ring. She'll likely experience a big let down over and over if she has to tell everyone that she doesn't have one.

I was standing in line at Academy a few weeks ago and noticed an entire end cap dedicated to $20 wedding bands for dudes.

If you can't find the equivalent in HEB no ring!

My wife’s ring was about $6.5K; Blue Nile diamond, hand made custom platinum setting. Mine is camo silicone from Amazon for about $6.50.

Default The things I do for my Lady !!

I have been in the diamond business for 30 years. What I know for sure is this, there are rules of engagement..

never ask her if she wants a ring - you know the answer !!

all ladies want a ring. If the budget is a gold band only, Its perfect and all the relationship needs.. If you have the budget then this is an opportunity to show her something special.. I'll never forget the look on my wifes face when I gave her the first ring 30 years ago. She was floored!! I spent 2500 bucks and it brought me so much joy to see the look on her face.. priceless !!

I've been married to the same woman for 30 years and I'm all about my lady, she doesn't ask me for anything but she doesn't have to I know her and I know what she likes. I buy for my lady with pleasure and she loves it.. It's never a burden for me. A bottle of wine , a nice dinner at her favorite restaurant and a movie goes a long way.. My lady doesn't need much but what she does need, is to know I LOVE HER WITH ALL I HAVE !!

A Sunrise with your Woman
is special
A Sunset with your Woman
is even better,
unless your hunting
