please do not kill that future stud. Way too young.

          He will not break 140

138-139”, 4.5 IMO. He is a good buck but will be a great deer in a few years. Hard to tell from those pics/angle but If he is 140” it won’t be much more than that.

I agree he appears to be right at 140. I believe he is probably 4.5.
              Great deer.

If he is the biggest deer you have ever seen in the last 20 years, what makes you think you will see a bigger one than him? You may be passing up a great buck hoping he will make it to next year. If you don't shoot him I bet your neighbor will if he sees him. I would ventilate him if I saw him under the same circumstances you described.

                      Very nice deer. 135”
If you want to shoot a big, mature deer, next year or two he will be.
                      Good luck.

If he has a good spread. I think he'll be right at 140.

No doubt the neighbors would shoot him if they see him, but its a chance Im willing to take. He may get hit by a car or caught up in a fence too, but I cant get him to 5.5 or 6.5 if I kill him now. Odds are probably against me seeing him next year, but I will roll the dice. There are plenty of 5.5 year old straight 8's and plenty of doe to kill to put meat in the freezer.

I'm looking at him and thinking of my 139 from last year. This one will break 140.

I can't get him past 135" but he may have a bigger body or be different than the deer in my neck of the woods soooooo--- nice buck in any case
