Icicle Pickles

6lb cucumbers sliced 1/4" thick
2 gal water
2 cups lime - pour over cucumbers soak 24 hours, rinse & drain well in ice cold water & set 3 hours

Boil (for few minutes)
8 cups sugar
3 pints vinegar
3 teaspoons whole clove
2 teaspoons whole allspice
2 teaspoons celery seeds
2 teaspoons salt

Put cucumbers in boil 20 minutes

No, its not lime juice, its pickling lime. Most old pickle recipies called for pickling lime, but it's no longer recommended.
