    It's official!

Well, three months ago I posted this thread https://discussions.texasbowhunter.c...d.php?t=729646 about my son shipping out to boot camp for the world's finest fighting force, The United States Marine Corps. This week we attended his graduation from boot camp. A couple weeks back, he completed The Crucible and earned the title Marine. Graduation was held yesterday morning at MCRD San Diego, where 20 years ago this month, I graduated on the same parade deck. I could not be more proud to see my son march across that parade deck as a U.S. Marine and to carry on the family tradition of military service.

Thanks fellas! Proud dad moment for sure! This evening when we got home, I gifted him my USMC Ka-Bar that I carried while I was on active duty through multiple deployments. Additionally, I gifted him a brand new Ka-Bar engraved with his name. I told him I'd be honored if he carried mine and/or his as he deployed around the world in the coming 5 years. Mine's already been lots of places, including a tour in Iraq. My wish is for him to carry on the legacy and be able to begin a new one of his own.
