Do deer get mange?

Whitetail deer have a patch of white on their neck like that

They can get mange like symptoms from having lots of ticks and other parasites. I think that usually occurs more in the summer though

It's most likely a lice issue we ha some deer like that on our place a few years back and our biologist said it was a lice issue dry years are typically the worst. It never became an issue my 1st thought when I saw one was mange too....the Bio said it was not a big deal
