I threw clover (what's in that bag) on top of it last week
In about 6-7 months it will "look like clover" everywhere
    Thinking ahead.
    Good job.
    Whats the shotty for?

This was taken care of an hour after I got done throwing seed.

And the occasional 300lbs hog that's been caught on camera

And this is the 14th day progress
        Had lots of rain

I put a pound each of
        Rape
        Radishies
        Turnips

        On yesterday
Want to see where I'll be in six weeks
Thank God no army worms got me.
But supposedly my first neighbor two miles up the road got hit.
Nothing between us but Snider pines and a few gas pads.

Looks good. I got to check mine yesterday. White clover after 8 days and 6” of rain.

Planted last weekend and is coming up. Planted in the rain and it's been wet all week! Feeling good about it.

Planted my clover and chicory mix 2 weeks ago and it was about 2 inches tall this weekend. Fertilizer and filled in spots with more seed and got rain the next morning so hopefully it’s gonna take off. No army worms here either

I don't think you have to worry about army worms on brassicas or clover.

I forgot I took this picture.
Army worm tried to get in the tent from when I took my kids camping back on Easter weekend.

Two weeks ago I thought I had dud seed because the cover looked like it did a few months ago
                      Only about 3 inches long
                      But today i have this

But this here really made it worth it for me...

And just like before I saw two snakes
                      Both rat snakes
One was a baby about two feet long and skinny
The other was a shed maybe give feet long and thick
Only problem is I was standing in the spot I saw the shed about 20mins before and there was no shed there
So the snake cruised through while I stepped away

This fall I think I'm going to go with 50lbs winter wheat and an additional 10lbs crimson clover in this field to make the clover more dense

I like looking (and laying in) at it as well as giving the deer and bees something to snack on

How much did the deer like those clover patches?

It's weird because they haven't touched this strip except maybe 50 feet of it somewhere in the middle
The strip is 600 feet long and about 25 feet wide

I also planted some around the corner from here in two separate patches about 50 feet apart separated by a pine tree
One side looks untouched the other side they hit pretty well and looks like they'd been sleeping in it

I'm looking to do another variety as well (white, ladino, durana???) to see what happens

I'm really excited about these bees!!!
Maybe throw down 80 lbs of black oil seeds for the birds

Did you put in one of those little cages/enclosures to see how much utilization you got? I mostly see people make those out of chicken wire.

                                I did.
Since caged growth was sane amount as uncaged I didn't take a pic
I'll do that this weekend as I go back before Easter.

I figure while I'm out there I will throw more seed since we should get rain the week after Easter
