    Black-bellied whistlers

Starting to see those whistling ducks again. Won't be too much longer until we're covered up with them, too bad there's no spring season on them!

Same here. We have them all over where I live. They are here year round.

                Yep, they don't migrate.

They are some dumb ducks. These landed in the yard while we were fishing.

I think some do and some don't. I'm in college station and don't ever see them until around this time of the year

I’ve got 100-150 at dairy now. They usually have 2 hatches on our place a year and stay until it’s pretty cold (early- mid December). I’ll have close to 300 by September I’d estimate

Dumb as a brick and die in large numbers over dark goose rags!

TP&W asked USF&W to open the season on them concurrent with the September teal season, and their response was that they didn't want to fund the studies that would be necessary to overcome the law suits that would be brought by anti-hunting organizations.

I'd be in favor of opening the season concurrent with javelina season out west... Sept. 1 thru Aug. 31 with a bag limit of about a dozen a day...
