Sam Houston National Forest

If you get a Public Hunting lands permit, you get a map of sites all over the state. The license costs $48, and opens up a lot of opportunities. I'mmoire familiar with the sites nearer Dallas and Ft Worth, but I have been to Sam Houston National Forest during both archery and gun season last year and saw lots of deer, but no hogs.
