Default Texas Turkey

Anyone know of any public land in Texas that might hold turkey? I'm having trouble convincing myself that I need to pay someone $400 to take me turkey hunting but it's getting easier by the day to justify it.

I would think that there's at least one place in Texas you can go for it on public land lol

$400 for a turkey hunt seems cheap. I thought it was more in the $750-1,500 range.

I've found turkey hunts on Craigslist going for $400 and under in some cases but some of the cheaper ones are no guarantee. I wasn't sure if LBJ had turkeys or not.

It does, but it's an extreme hit or miss.

If you want a guarantee, public land hunting is not the way to go lol

LBJ grasslands (around Decatur). Hunted there for over 20 years. Come Spring, those Rios will be lighting it up first light. PM me with questions regarding spots to hunt. I don't mind sharing.

Nah I'm not looking for that just saying that's the rate for those Day hunts in some places. I'd rather do it on public land if I can

Twinn Buttes San Angelo has public hunting and there are LOTS of turkey there. When I was deer hunting there in Dec I had huge groups of 35 turkeys on a regular basis.

Hey man. Do you mind taking me out once, so I can learn the ropes? I plan on using a bow. I haven't strayed off 41 this season, but open to go anywhere out there.

Well if you do decide to pay for a hunt we're offering Semi-guided turkey hunts in Junction on March 21st - 24th and April 4th - 7th. Includes meals, lodging, 1 gobbler, and hogs & varmints on the low fence side of the ranch. Cost is $475 and you can either hunt Wednesday - Saturday or Thursday - Sunday on those weeks. We currently have 3 openings on the March dates and 4 openings in April. Additional gobbler can be added for $200 and there are lots of birds. Let me know if interested asap as openings will fill soon.
