Well that’s kind of a glorified name for a pumper but that is my job title as I’m a company man. Contract hands are hired under the job title of pumper.

Every company has a variety of responsibilities but basically you'd be responsible for the equipment that gets product out of the well bore down the flow line to the processing facility that seperates water-oil- gas. Then getting those three products to places they need to go without cross contamination ( no oil in water or gas etc.) There's a lot that goes into that process but it's not complicated, just a lot of steps involved.

I am Offshore. Looking to get back on land just weighing out my options with what I could do with my background strictly Oil Field.

Yep. I handle all daily operations on oil and gas leases. Everything from gauging tanks, making sure all surface equipment is functioning properly, reading meters, keep track and recording oil, gas, and water production...and reporting it accurately, checking for leaks in tanks, flow lines, etc...selling loads of oil, having water hauled or pumped off location, etc etc etc. It’s a great low stress job. I check 50 wells a day on approx 20 locations spread out over 15-20 miles.

Was a lease op at eog for 5.5 yrs, then got in to the chemical department until they sold us and now doing the same for the new company. Id love to learn more and get a chance to do something a little more technical with it. I got bored "pumping" but seems like there is always something to learn and a problem to solve in the chemical world
