First real trad hunt

I have been practicing for about one year and while I am no great shooter my practise has been paying off. In the past I would go hunting and take my longbow but then I would get cold feet and fall back on the wheel bow. We are going on a hog/javelina hunt this weekend at Callaghan ranch and I am only taking the long bow. My comfort zone is 15 yards and closer, so I plan to play the wind and see how good my stalking skills are. I am hoping to turn the corner and go 100% trad. God bless us all

Good luck! Stalking javis on the Callaghan Ranch sure brings back a lot of great old memories. Stalk the javies during the day and sit on a corned out tank at night if they let you hunt after dark. I have killed LOTS of pigs there doing it that way.

Good luck, bud. I think I'm ate up with it as well. Gearing up for a hog hunt, and I am leaving the compound at home. It is first trad kill or nothing this weekend.

Cool. I got my first trad kill on the ranch next door to the Callahan. I shot a rabbit. I have always brought my trad gear as backup. I did my first all trad hunt at the Granger Extreme hunt this year.
