Default Brushy Hill Review

Wen't to Brushy Hill last weekend the 8-10, booked the hunt last minute and they had some room for us. This was my first day lease to go to and after reading all the reviews I pick brushy hill. Well we didn't end up getting anything but I can say for sure we will be back. Nick did a great job setting us up well worth the money to get him to put you up a blind. The abundance of rainfall in that area has things very green and the deer could care less about the corn so it made for hard hunting. Even with that you still see they have tons of deer there and know there is some monsters. My brother in-law had a chance at a big 10 but he busted him on the draw back and said good bye. Meat some nice guys from Louisiana and had some good time. Hope to go back and have more good times soon!

Love that place. Which pasture did you guys hunt? This is the first time in ten years that I'm not hunting Brushyhill. Putting my oldest son through college has my play funds tied up.

Went there on a hog hunt couple years ago. Saw lots of nice bucks. Also our group had plenty of opportunities at hogs. Lots of fun. Accommodations were top notch. Id go back in a heart beat.

Just got back. Seen lots of deer. Couldn't get them to come closer than 50 yards. I'm not good more than 40 so I passed on the shots. Seen a bunch of pigs but couldn't close the deal. Stayed in the white house on the hill. Its not Holiday Inn but it will work for a overnight stay or two. If you stay here the shower in the right restroom works the best. The hot water gets hot. Had a blast and will go back. Next time I will get with Nick before I go so he can hook me up with a set up. Sorry for the short notice Nick if you read this.

I give the place

River Pasture. I had my blind set up on the ditch by the road. Should have went a little further in along that ditch. Its really nice up in about 150 yards.

I'm Glad you guys really like this place. I just came back from a week long hunt there and I wasn't impressed. They had us in the cabins just off the road and were definitely not top notch, as soon as we got there we had to take out the power tools and re hinge the door just to get it closed. The shower head was plugged up, and the propane tank was out. When it came to hunting, We were assigned the west river pasture. We liked the area a lot. I saw maybe a total of 11 bucks and just one was legal to shoot. The other guys I went with saw a couple of nice bucks but out of shooting range. Every day I hunt i had to get out of my stand an run off cows at least 3 times. I think that's what aggravated me the most because I missed an opportunity on a doe and a spike because they were spooked by cattle coming in. Half the feeders didn't have corn in them, but we didn't mind that too much because we decided not to hunt the feeders or corn route ( mainly because we new the cows would definitely show up there) We didn't mind the cabin issues too much, but having to fight cows was definitely frustrating. Nick and Pete are both really nice guys but I don't know if we'll be going back to this place. Nick did tell us that they were looking into building a new cabin in Hog Heaven and that we should look into hunting that area next time. Hope ya'll have a better experience than we did.

Default Just got back.....

My partner and I hunted the Kreager Pasture Nov 20-24. Turned off warm a couple of days up around 80 degrees. It was our first time in that pasture and we managed to find a few decent bucks. Don't let anyone tell you the snakes are not still out. Thats my parnter holding the 6' rattler we killed by my blind.
I took a decent 10 pt.

How did y'all locate the deer you saw including the ten? Nice buck!

Have hunted HH south several times and trying to get a hunt together for late December or January.
