                Be sure to test it in the garage so you can see how little corn will make it out of the metal screen. Other than that it should work just fine if you coat the heck out of it. I would for sure go to a bigger metal prob one with at least 1 inch squares. Prob use a 1x2 mesh. run the 2 inch sideways.

                  That wood feeder will work just fine. Just make sure and paint several coats of paint on it and touch it up when needed. My grandpa and dad use to store grain in a wooden grain bin years ago for many years and never had a problem with mold or anything due to moisture. That wooden grain bin is still standing and is a storage shed now days for the woman who has it now. The only thing I would change would be the mesh but you can decide that after testing it and that's easy to do anyways.
