As far as lighter options, all I can think of is pinto beans and corn on the cob

Lately I've been on kreuz/smittys style sides with my brisket at the house.

A good hunk of cheddar, fresh sliced onion & avacado, a dill pickle. I've also been throwing in some of those green olives. That's it. Hits the spot.

Throw a some kind of cobbler/pie in with the brisket; you'll be amazed at how good it tastes with a little smoky flavor and Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream.

Gotta be beans and coleslaw or potato salad. But I do like the Rice Broccoli casserole stuff that Cousin's serves.

I'm not much into the sides. Maybe some slaw or homemade french fries.

This is the meal I cooked for a birthday party last weekend. The basics. They added pickles and onions.
Brisket, ribs, sausage, homemade beans, and German onion butter taters.

Baked beans and tator salad here. Ive been making my tator salad from a copy cat recipe I found after eating at Whole Hog BBQ in Little Rock years ago.
I double the batch in most cases.
Mighty fine vittles I tell ya....especially after a few days in frig.

I just boil the potatoes and in a different pot, put some chopped onions and butter. Let the butter and onions cook till the onions are soft. Drain potatoes and pour butter onion mixture on top and mix. Then Ill add some bacon bits.
Super easy.
