    Magic Lantern ?

Was wanting to get a intervalometer for my 550D to play with

Saw a time lapse series Michael posted that he said used Magic Lantern. So I googled it and did some reading.

Is this something I can easily use or does it require more than beginner knowledge of photography?

Looks like it is a free download that works off of the SD card?

Let me hear some feedback please

If you're tech savvy at all you will figure it out. I used it on my T2i a couple years ago. Pretty slick.

No tech geek here but if it is relatively easy to figure out I should be able to

Guess if it is free then I have not lost anything

550D=T2i but you probably know that

Just read through the instructions on their website. Once you put it on your memory card, all you do is put the card in the camera and turn it on. It's pretty easy.

That is how I read it but wanted to make sure I was not missing something

            Found this in the userguide

            Important notes

If you have a bootable SD card and have the BOOTDISK flag set in the camera (which the installer does), and you do not have an AUTOEXEC.BIN file on the card the camera WILL NOT BOOT! It will hang and not wake up until the battery is removed.
If you encounter a locked up camera, quickly remove the battery.
When in doubt, remove the battery and reboot.
And, remember that this software can damage or destroy your camera.
Now I am scared of this, my luck is not the greatest and if it can ruin a camera mine would be the one

Got me thinking free might end up costing me a lot
