              Very cool pic!! Did it come cruising over you for the pic or were you able to walk up close enough before it flew.

              I'm gonna go out on a limb and disagree w/ the Red-tailed Hawk (should have a dark band on the front of the underside of the wing). I'm thinking its a juvenile (possibly light morph) Swainson's Hawk.

                Based on the picture you posted, you could certainly convince me of that!

                    It was perched on a solar panel array about 15' off the ground. I drove up to within about 20yds of him. I got the camera ready, stepped out of the truck, walked to 10yds, aimed and ready. As he took off, I started shooting.
