Agreed. I was surprised at the size of the kids they picked up. Normally there are a few that stick out. Seemed like they had a bunch of the them.

Tech's defense played lights out until it really counted then the secondary had some lapses that cost them. I truly wonder what Holcutt is thinking after giving KK backing to see him loose a bowl game that he was slightly favored in to end the season once again with a loosing season, 6-7. Yes the defense was way better this year, but Tech is not running the hurry up offense like they use to that wore the defense out in the second quarter. Lots of dropped passes that hurt them and costly penalties also. Their goal line stands in this game were awesome, but the never did dig out of the hole and the poor punt right before halftime did them no good!

USF was favored in the bowl at -2.5

USF was 9-2.....Tech was 6-6

It was a **** good game with some brainfarts in the end. The Tech punter gave them a TD as well. Nothing like punting and having the team start in the redzone without a return.

Yes it was and Tech's defense played lights out except for maybe 2 or 3 plays. The shanked punt did not help right before half. Tech only putting 10 points on the board in the first half while reaching USF's 25 yard line also hurt, but that has be a nemisis for Tech all year with a very low % of scoring inside the 25 and Red Zone.

Texas always gets the 5 stars but they can't develop them. There is not much difference than a 5 star or a 3 star really. It's what program can get them to the next level. Texas and A&M hasn't been able to do it .

I guess if there is not much difference between a 3 and 5 star recruit I should not be so upset at our early commits

Well #1 Texas gets the occasional 5 Star. Not always gets the 5 stars. Nice over-exaggeration..

#2 saying that there is not much difference than a 5 Star and a 3 star is so subjectively bogus I can’t even begin to explain it. I mean there are so many wrongs in that statement and then it can occasionally totally flip with a 3star like Connor Williams being better than a flipped 5 Star. But to blanket statement like you did is just bogus.

So Aggie DE Mike Garrett and overall #1 pick is not much better than, say 3star DE Texas Max Cumin ?

Malik Jefferson is not much better than Texas own 3star lb DeMarco BoyD

How's it a bogus statement? Look at Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen. Even Colt McCoy wasn't heavily recruited

And yes Texas hasn’t been getting those most out of what they do have lately but I’m suspecting that will continue to change.

Until they loose when they get into conference. Suspended their leading scorer and he will not be back until the 3rd game of conference.

Gotta be careful recruiting stars. Sure, it looks good on paper, but tu has 8 stars worth of QBs and doesn’t have a QB.

Ags have had their share of 5 star busts.

Seems Jimbo is recruiting what we need, not just what looks good on paper.

for you guys that keep up with recruiting, is there a website I can go to and look at college signings by school classification in texas? like where I can go see all the 3A kids that signed, and 2A kids, etc?

I am curious these days how many small school kids make it to the next level, not just D1 either. glancing over a few D1 college rosters it doesn't appear that many of them at all come from 1A-4A high schools, lineman tend to be the outlier, I think it has to do with the amount of 1-sport specialization at big schools.

What is Utah's tie in to the cotton bowl?

Nevermind, it's not the cotton bowl, it is the heart of Texas bowl played at the cotton bowl. Which I should have known because the cotton bowl is played at AT&T now.

Its not the Cotton Bowl. Its just being played in the Cotton Bowl.

It's the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Probably lacking in CUSA bowl qualifiers so Pac 12 was awarded the spot versus WVU.
