    Truck Repair Advice

    The situation is this:

    2013 F150, 87K miles, owe $13K

Just had it in for check engine light, (that just came on yesterday), was told head gaskets blown, and a couple other things, total $8-9K in repairs.

This will be a 3rd major repair, and each time was told, yes that model had several issues with the eco boost engine (v8).

Do I really dump that much $?
Do I sell it outright and buy something else?

    Advice o wise ones??!!

If you can sell it for enough to break even, cut bait and run.

This is the question: how much is it worth?

I may be facing this on the truck i literally just bought a month ago.

Waiting to get diagnosis, if repair is anything significant I'm cutting and running.

8-9 grand sounds extremely high to replace a head gasket. I would shop around.

No way a rebuilt motor costs 8-9k, take it somewhere else.

Sounds to me like your making payments on someone's beach house. I'd find a new mechanic.

Yep, gonna do that tomorrow, but hate to pay 3-4 diagnostic fees.

I’m not a mechanic and with these new motors I wouldn’t be able to find the spark plugs on my diesel[emoji3].

With that being said what are the couple of other things? 8k seems like a lot for head gaskets.

I don't blame you there but I'm sure you can beat that price by a lot. Just need to find a mechanic instead of a brain surgeon.

                          That bites
That kind of crap on a motor with basically no miles would turn me off of that brand for ever.

Is that price from a stealership? If so, I would get estimate from a repair shop

Was the truck running bad ? Getting hot ?
I would get a second opinion, and not tell them wheat the first guy said
