Maybe Hamels should pitch around Springer... or just give him the 4 pitch trip to first.

Nice to see the team show some guts this weekend. Coming back from 5-0 was awesome. HR's from the young guys was fun. And Big Sexy. Just happy to see competitive baseball.

And just like that we are back in the gutter. Profar injured, and Perez looks like a big pile of steaming dog **** on the mound.

...and back to earth we crash.

M. Perez stinking up Tropicana Field. Profar w/ some sort of injury from a second base collision / slide. Good times.

Nunez, Guzman, Mazara, and Gallo are some big boys.

I am done with Perez. He is never gonna be what we need. He is a gutless hack. Choking under pressure defensively and pitching. Throw Profar in that mix as well.

Would it be rude to waive Perez during the game?

Concussion might improve the inner workings of Profar's brain.

WTHAY....I just tuned in for the second time this season. The guy playing centerfield just looked like a bafoon missing the ball and mistiming his leap both by 3 seconds. My wife of all people. The worst athlete on the planet said. What was that...that didn't look very athletic!!!!

Matt Moore gets out of the first w/o giving up a run. Rangers AAA lineup scores runs in each of the first two innings. Up 2 - 0 in second. Progress.

Curious to know what our thoughts are about shuttling Gallo from first to left field during the week. For however long it may last. Do we think it will mess him up?

I'm also wondering if the grand plan is to nurse Gallo through this year and let him be the next full time third baseman? If Beltre' is traded Gallo could move to third later this year. If not, Gallo slides over next year. If Guzman produces, he's at first moving forward? Just wondering.

On yet another note: I read where Willie Calhoun was carping about being sent to Round Rock. Says he proved all he can prove about his hitting at AAA. Hey Willie, just a suggestion, learn to catch, throw, and mix in a salad. Jeez.

Is Beltre's contract up after this year or is he signed further out?

He's out there because of injury. From what I understand he and Guzman are close friends, and he was happy to move to make room.

This season is a wash, I don't see what it could hurt.

Hopefully Moore found something he can carry forward and it wasn't just a fluke being back in Tampa. Nice to see IKF and Guzman producing. This year is all about developing young talent.

from what i have read, you are right. they are grooming guzman for 1st and are preparing gallo for 3rd when beltre gets traded in a couple months. like dale said, injuries have just sped up the process.

i agree this year is about developing young talent and am fine with that, but it makes it tough for me to watch choo playing every day. his contract has pretty much made him untradeable and unbenchable, and its a shame.

another shame is that there isnt anyone in AAA chomping at the bit to get up here to take his spot. willie can hit but he is horrible in the OF, so until he gets that worked out he will continue where he is.

other than willie we dont have a OF prospect predicted to be called up before 2021, leody tavares

maybe a beltre/hamels deal in july will help the farm system out.

Texas has officially signed Cuban OF Julio Pablo Martinez. Both Baseball America and MLB.com deem him Texas's third-best prospect (behind Willie Calhoun and Leody Taveras). BA places him 60th overall, MLB.com 70th. He turned 22 last month.

Some good news ^

I think i read the dude is a plus defender, not so much with a bat. I could be wrong about that. But if a plus defender that puts him ahead of most current Ranger outfielders. I guess we'll find out sometime. Didn't see what club he's been assigned to....

I'm sure his bat would fit right in if he joined the big club tomorrow but his defense would be a big step up. Hopefully he can turn into something or be turned for something when the time comes.

What I read is he is going to start off in the Dominican Summer league before being assigned to High A or Double A later this year.
