By the time I get/got done cooking fish, jalapino hush-puppies, taters, onions, and deep fried pork ribs, it is/was almost time to pack up, most years. So I miss a good bit of social time . Bring some of them fajitas over. And we'll boil them in some oil, with every thing else.

(I might even stay a night at the Hilton this year, with my giant flask again Friday night )

I'll throw another bait maker into the mix! I thought he was shutting down but he's actually expanding!

Lane Palmer with Constant Pursuit outfitters! He makes the toughest plastics I've ever seen and they're garlic infused. I like the thump chubbies personally. If your a dock shooter these things skip like a dream.

Sausage gravy
JB Special
White Hot
Shadowboy
Blue Wing Teal
Rattler

Ya'll might wish you didn't ask me before long!!!

I am going to try and make it. I have a cabin up by Cassels Boykin and a 18' center console. Got some brush up there and the bridge. Might be able to get my dad to run up and bait some of them the week before.

Thanks. Dis ol body already aches enough as it is .

Some day somebody's gonna find a skeleton with a pole in hand sitting in a chair on a bank some where. Just be sure to keep me propped upright please.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kilt. Gotta go!

The creek channel runs right along side the islands out in front of the marina. Sure to be lots of fish all along it.

For the tree huggers there is some tall timber to the north west of the marina if you are a tree hopper. Tie up and give it 15 minutes and move to the next.

Default TBH Sam Rayburn Crappie weekend!

Jackson hill has plenty of room inside the store or under the tent out front that we could probably meet there friday evening and I could give y'all some crappie pointers. If somebody has a bbq pit on wheels they could bring we could cook burgers and what not Friday night. Tell crappie lies and get the party started. Sat night plan is a fish fry! I'd like to get a head count on how many kiddos are coming as well. See if we can round up some baits or something for them!!

Welcome aboard!! There’s a couple of posts that cover the hot baits on Big Sam. The bass fishing will be good too. Find Brush and you’ll find Crappie and bass.

Welcome!! There's some post in here with baits but keep in mind that's just what we used! I would try whatever you like or had confidence in and go from there. That said seemed like anything shad colored or something with chartreuse worked great then there's always minnow drowning.

Hey fellas,

Name is Terry, and I have been lurking on this site for several years. Decided it's time to get out and do a meet-and-greet. Just booked cabin #20 for 3 nights, coming in on May 31 to do some pre-fishing, learn the lay of the land, and maybe catch some "ditch pickles" - that's a new term for me. I am a single, so if anyone wants to split a cabin we can work it out. Either way I am in for the trip.

I have a 19-ft Bass Tracker with plenty of room for riders if y'all want to come and don't have a boat.

Never been crappie fishing before but am looking forward to a new acquiring a new addiction. Never eaten crappie either, so I am in for a treat, no doubt.

Bookmarked and looking forward to a great time.

That's some slabs!! Never have really enjoyed catchin' white perch (for lack of fight/aggressiveness), but sure do like eating them!! Just what y'all got in that pic would make a good stink in the grease!!

I'm gonna be at the Chandeleur's then and I hope we have a repeat of what we did last summer!

I looked that place up after reading about your trip! I'd like to go do that sometime! A big redfish is on my list someday! I catch some pretty good catfish. Bass and hybrids crappie fishing. Pretty good fight on crappie gear but I love the thump! I think about catching crappie every day of my life!!

On another note! Those people that say the second best day of owning a boat is when you sell it must have had their new boat in the shop already!! The slab sled is gone and the new boats probably still a couple months out! Guess I'm gonna bum rides for a while! The new Ranger is gonna sure have some big shoes to fill. The Triton was a heck of a crappie rig!!

What model did you get? I bought a Solix 12 but it's still in the box, in my second gun safe. I know the box is enormous.

Keith, I got the Helix 10si. Also got and installed a Terrova with I-link. Wish Minn Kota had a Ultera in 55lb thrust. My back ain't so good.
The spot-lock feature is gonna get used a lot.
