Default The Twins - Blind build

They are gonna be HUGE.

Building 2 wood blinds for the lease. 6X6X6 with a 24" deep "bay window". The bay window will have 3 deerviews. Each side will have a 12"x24" rifle window. Back side will be the door. Juggling (no pun intended) a camper rebuild and these at the moment. I hope to have the main pieces framed by this weekend. Will be semi-movable / take apart-able as well.

Follow along.

Well we have been working on these but havenít updated the thread. We have one in the field already and one about to go up soon.

We built the blind big, 6 foot wide, 8 foot long, and six foot tall on the inside.

We framed the front and framed out the windows, deer view windows will be going in. We did the 36 x10 hinge windows.

We built it to be assembled in the field with 2 people, so we disassembled it fo prep for paint

Got the roof framed out

Thatís it for know Iíll update this weekend

It has side windows for a breeze, the spot is shaded, and battery operated fans are going in the blind. For the winter time Iíll run a hose to a tank below the blind for propane to a mister buddy heater.

I’m wanting to build one soon. I was going to buy a manufactured door but they are expensive. How did yours come out.

You can get a metal external door at Home Depot for like $60. Or look at a surplus store that buys seconds. I got mine at Seconds and Surplus for $40. All I had to do is add an extra strip of foam. And good to go. Here is a pic.

This is what I would do next time, but we built a 2x4 door frame and skinned it with the ply wood. Not as tight as I would like but we will add some foam trim stuff to keep bugs out

Not super loud at all. The Milwaukee service center had them on the desk running, I was impressed with it.

Great build on your stand for sure . Just nail the tin on top of ridges so it won't leak.
