New lease ride project

Bought this 1997 jeep Cherokee 4x4 a few weeks ago with 127k miles. First project will be fabbing a front bumper. I have a smittybilt 8000# winch that will be mounted. I also purchased a 2.5 inch lift. But first I will finish bumper project.

This was last Saturday. Checking fit. Bolted on here. At this step I welded the two end caps and removed bumper to weld in some bracing on the inside.

Update. This was 15 minutes ago. Just welded on winch plate. After cool down. Spraying on self etching primer then rustolem truck bed coating. Hopefully have it installed tomorrow. Thanks for following along

Metal looks gray after a coat of ospho. I've never used ospho, I thought it would turn a powder white but metal turned gray. I'm tired. I'll paint it tomorrow.
