Is there a drain plug in a Ford 1999 250?

Whatever you do DON’T start it until you drain the tank!

Friend has done this before, we had to pull the tank and drain, and changed filters. It still runs great today and that was 5 years ago.

Unhook fuel line—pump into drum etc.

No drain plug in factory tank.

Yes, if no one has been inside the tank since new there is a strainer at the bottom/pickup. I went through mine many years ago and that is what I recall. It is not a normal replacement item though.

Like said, siphon out as much as possible. Refill with diesel and I would personally add a quart or two of two stroke oil. This will provide extra lubrication for the first tank of diesel. Since you have not started it you can probably wait to change the fuel filter until after you run the next tank or two of diesel.

Be glad that you have a 7.3. It will take this error a lot better than the newer models.

                          Good luck,
                          T

If it hasn't been cranked thqt is excellent news. Siphon off all the contents of the fuel tank into a container, refill completely with fresh diesel then roll on.

By the time you empty the tank and refill the remaining gasoline will be so diluted and mixed with the diesel it will have zero effect.

Tying to siphon it all out is a problem. Our choice to discount the fuel line and pump it dry. Just have to figure out which of the 2 lines is the correct one.
