    Kansas Success

I have hunted Kansas since 2000 on a ranch in Chautauqua county southeast KS. This year I got the chance to lease 6200 acres about 50 miles north in Greenwood county with the same landowners, we had hunted heavy timber but this area looks like the moon compared to the old ranch. There are large crop fields and very little cover, so a learning curve is an understatement. The first camera pull we had 2 deer over 170 on camera and several really good ones. My son named this buck droopy and he never left the farm I finally caught up to him 12/10/2017 , he is by far the best buck I have taken with my bow taxidermist aged him 6 1/2, and scored 163 3/8 as is. We estimated him to be in the mid 170s before he was broken up.

Wow!!!!! Congrats Wade. That is a great buck and it looks like there are more in your hunting area. P.S.......I still have the Mule tires I bought from you years ago. They still have air in them. Good luck to you next season as well in Kansas.
