Just checked Total Wines website. $100 is crazy. $37 if you can find it at total wine if I’m looking at the right bottle

Some of these I love, some I won't buy again.

The guys who didn't have much tasting experience rated almost the opposite what the more experienced guys rated.
Here's my list:
Best Nose: Midwinters Night Dream
Maple blast on the nose, really smooth. The palate and finish were both a little flat to me.
Best Palate: Kentucky Owl (first expression)
Lots of earth notes here (leather, fresh grass, sandlewood) probably the most complex from the lineup. Not a beginners rye for sure.
Best Finish: Angels Envy Double Rye
This was the sweetest rye I have every tasted, by far (*finished in rum casks*). It tastes just like it smells on the nose. Vanilla/Carmel BOMB I mean just an explosion. The finish is like key lime pie. Not something I could drink a ton of because of the sweetness but an excellent desert rye.
Best Overall: Thomas Handy Sazerac
This was a super hot one at 132 proof. It was really difficult deciding in this line up, but overall I think the Sazy wins out by just being a really solid rye and not trying to be anything else.
A little hot on the nose, definite cereal notes with a slight vanilla/cinnamon undertone. Hot on the tongue (better if it breathes for 10 mins or so), vanilla notes come out more along with some black pepper.
Finish had some figs/cereal/little vanilla.
Biggest Disappointment: Kentucky Owl 2nd Expression
I was really looking forward to trying this and it really just fell flat. It was smooth and had the classic rye notes but I didn't pick up anything interesting from it. Fine for a daily drinker, but for the price I would sub it with Russels.
