    .223 Wood goats

If you were going g to shoot deer at 50 yards with an 16-18" AR, and they needed to die within 150 yards(preferably right where they stood) what would you shoot them with and where? Just a Vmax to the grey matter? Copper bullet in the high shoulder?

BTW, the gun shoots 50gr Vmax in the same hole at 50 yards. Honestly have never shot anything else in the gun.

Vmax to the dome or neck. Works every time out to 150yards.

I like this spot on a doe. No wasted meat.

I guess the first shot was in the left front leg?

I shot a fallow doe this past weekend in Sonora at about 75 yards but just a straight neck shot and she dropped right there. I was using the Hornady match 55 grain Spire point. You can get him an academy for $28 for 50 in the big red box.

If you don’t want them to run, head or neck.

Or just shoot their leg off as seen above.

I stalked and shot a spike in the chest at about 50 yards with a copper plated soft point reload from Dallas Reloading. He dropped in his tracks. Maybe I was lucky.

                            What is a "wood goat"?

I shot this doe a few weeks ago at 45 yards. She made it 30 yards and piled up...Top of the heart, destroyed the lungs and broke the off side leg. It was almost a complete pass threw but I was able to recover the bullet from the hide.

                              223....62 grain Federal Fusion.
