    African hunter missing

    From www.africahunting.com:

Friday, South African hunting guide Scott van Zyl of SS Pro Safaris went missing. He set out with his tracker and some tracking dogs to follow two separate leopard trails. They were hunting out of Chikwaraka Camp in Zimbabwe.

The dogs and tracker returned, Scott didn't. They're searching with a chopper, but it's very expensive - over $800 per hour, but nothing yet. A GoFundMe account has been set up.

Scott is a very tough, experienced bush man, "tough as a tree stump" and people are baffled about what happened. Everybody is praying that maybe this is a sprained ankle type of situation and that he will be returning safely.

This is cut and pasted from the other network. Scott is a member here and has posted some in the recent history. Thought all here might want to know and perhaps help. Bruce posted 08 April 2017 13:32 Folks, Fellow Outfitter Scott van Zyl (@SS Pro Safaris) went missing yesterday while...

Because getting additional support from people willing to spend their hard earned money on someone else to help is a bad thing...

Jus thinking out loud here, never hunted Africa and have no desire to. If a tracker can track a leopard with soft pads and can move silently through the bush, shouldn't a tracker be able to track clumsy human wearing hard soled shoes?

Good call. Given we don't know all the details, but this seems like a pretty solid thought here.

I was thinking the same thing even thought it shouldn't take long after seeing some of those trackers work on tv.

I'll give them all the support in the world. But they aren't getting my money.

If he hasn't put out a smoke signal by now, this probably won't have a good ending.
