Default Remembering Tuthdoc Today

Its not his birthday or anything like that. It is just about the time we would start our axis hunts. After reading Docs Grizzly thread it got me thinking about the original Doc.

For those new people on the board who were not around when John (TuthDoc) graced our lives you truly missed a special person. A man who could tell a story in color. His threads are legendary. I really wish his threads were not closed so we could bring them to the top from time to time for all to enjoy. Every year I try to go back and read them. From the Junco to San Angelo, he knew how to get it done. But I truly believe the best live hunt ever done on TBH where his AXIS Quest threads. Maybe I am biased because I hunted with him on those hunts but i just cant get passed all the pictures and the cliff hangers he would take us on. I have arranged the threads in order below. Every thread have awesome photos and lays the ground work for the Final Chapter.. Oh how I miss my friend. I am sure we all do.

Great tribute post, Mitch! I did not know him but he is definitely a top TBH legend.

Any who has not spent time reading his threads is highly recommended to do so!

FIFY!

I didn't really know him just met at a get-together at Triple Edge. Always enjoyed reading and learning from his threads. My bow still carries a TD sticker.

I read every word of all 4 of those threads........I want to go Axis hunting.

Gifted story teller and heck of a writer. I never got a chance to meet him or talk with him but have always enjoyed his threads. Great tribute!

I've ready many of his threads. I believe he had just passed when I started lurking. The responses to his passing is what let me know this was a community not just an internet forum.

I went back & looked at the post you referenced & agree with you 100%. The gentleman must have been a heck of an individual and the respect he was given proves that fact. There are some extremely good individuals on this site.

In my opinion he was the “Higher Authority” on all things bowhunting. His opinions carried a lot of weight around here. I never had the privilege of meeting him but he left quite a legacy
