I met with the oncologist today after labs early this morning and the news was very good. My blood work was excellent in every way. He told me that the patients with my numbers after the first chemo sessions could expect long term good health. I met a guy from College Station there that told me he had done what I'm doing now 10 years ago and was the picture of health.
I had the seventh treatment of twelve and he was going to schedule my surgery now for the end of June.
I certainly appreciate all of the prayers and good thoughts and ask them to continue. Our God is an awesome God.
Edit: I was concerned that part of the treatments would have to continue for a full year, this was according to one of the infusion nurses. While on this treatment I can't have red meat so I haven't had beef or pork since February. He smiled when I told him I didn't sign on to that part and assured me that it was only for the duration of the chemo. I've been stocking red meat, especially pork for when I can have it again. Told my wife we would begin stocking gourmet bacon mid May.
