    Carpet Blind

I got this idea from someone else. I think it was here on TBH but can't remember. Just want to give credit where due.

    The pics should say everything.

The blind proved to be effective as I got a nice 8pt and my oldest son and my daughter both got their first deer this past season.

My first thought was that the deer would smell you (the human and every other scent in the carpet.) but I suppose if you left it out in the sun in a feild that it would "air out" and take on the natural scent. I believe you are correct on where you saw the initial idea. I believe it was made out of sheets and paint for a sealant. I do like the idea that you can find scap carpet for free or you can pick up "the last of the roll" for a very reasonable price.

By the way, I like the extra carpet you put inside for the flooring. Now they will never hear your office chair move around.

I'm building at least one very similar this weekend, maybe two or three. I have to ask. With the plastic on it, how hot is that blind in early season?

I have free used carpet in San Antonio if anyone wants to try this, pallets also. These blinds work great and are cheap!!

Interesting idea. If it gets wet, how do keep it from stinking?

If you don't see any deer it could double as a sauna.

I didnt really use this until General season opened last year. I have a tripod I was using.

I havent had any smells from it. I put it out in June of 2011 and didn't hunt in it until November.

The deer didnt really think anything of it in November. I had deer walk in front of the stand between me and the fence which is less than 10 ft.
