    Freak Buck

My wife went with me to the lease this weekend for her first hunt ever. She got a decent 8 for her first deer on Saturday evening. On Sunday evening we had a freak come out and she took him.

I have never seen this buck before, but there is an older buck with the same deformity that hopefully will not make it through the season.

Here he is on the hoof:

We are getting a euro done and keeping the lower jaw attached.

He was 3.5 and had a small body, about the size of a 1.5 year old out there. I'm really glad she took this one out of the herd.

Had a 7 pt last year that looked identical to him. When I went to kill him he was never seen again. Hopefully someone got him. He was pretty run down for whatever he reason.

You ever see anyone that had a broken nose before?

I killed one like that last year. I thought it was a broken nose but the fact that you had two like that on your place makes me wonder if it's genetic.

This was exactly what I though when this one came out. One I can see as a freak accident happened, but not two.

We have 2 at the lease like that. Most likely broken noses on our bucks. Looks like it will make a cool euro.
