First sit of the year in the AM

Missed the first 2 weekends for various reasons but sitting in the trailer watching Tom Horn and having a couple of drinks. I will be in my Tank End Blind tomorrow morning come sun up. No idea what to expect, have not checked cameras in 6 weeks. Green as all get out and wetter than snot (not nere like some of you but for here it is wet!).

Good luck!! I was going to go out but it's still raining... I normally just sit in "brush" blinds so not going to go out and get soaked... I will however be ready if there is a few hour brake in the rain.

Morning sit was a dud. Feeder time was off and the big boar came in early brfore could see and did not hang around.
Just shot a big old sow that was at the feeder when I walked in. They just went into the salt cedars for a bit before my feeder went off at 6. Shot her at 6:05. Going to go look for her shortly.

                          Killed Saturday evening!

First kill of the season and it was a big old dominant sow. She ran all the others off the feeder including a medium size boar. She was chasing the others so much I had a hard time getting a shot on her. After about 25 yards the blood trail was massive, even I could follow it and I am red/green color blind! She went about 80 to 90 yards total. One of the few quartering away shots I have taken over the last few years. I like broadside and pass throughs, but this was the opportunity so I took it. One of the best if not the best blood trails I have ever had on a critter!

595 grain Black Eagle Carnivore at 595 grains and 19% FOC did a number on her! Along with a 125 grain Ramcat. Big hole on the entry!
