    Fresh pea recipes(purple hull & baby creams)

    I've got my a few but looking for more. How do you cook your fresh peas?

    Here is a simple one tht I like to use

    Ingredients:
    3 slices bacon, diced
    1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    1 1/2 cups chopped onion
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    8 ounces cubed ham or salt meat
    4 cups chicken broth
    4 cups fresh purple hull peas
    salt and pepper, to taste, or tonys
    2 table spoons butter
    Preparation:
    Cook the bacon in a skillet until almost crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and ham and cook, stirring, until onion is tender and lightly browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute longer. Add the bacon, chicken broth, and peas and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 50 to 60 minutes, or until peas are just tender and creamy. Remove cover and increase to medium-low; simmer for 5 to 10 minutes longer. Taste and add salt and pepper, as needed.
    Serves 6 to 8.
