It takes some time if a vehicle is towed by police ticket to storage
Storage lot is responsible to contact leinholders, current listed owner and then at the earliest around 30 days make auction a vehicle.
There are storage lots all over Houston and usually have an auction atleast once a month. Not to often do good cars go thru without fetching top dollar. Houston Auto Auction is now open to public and auctions every week if your interested you can probably get info off web
I left the towing business long ago but still have good friends with companies

Yes, HAA pricing has been driven up because of lots of reasons, mainly though is public demand for cheap cars
