Just found out dad wants to go to the coast

I'm like: um ok! Which one?
    He's like: uh Texas!
    I'm like k[emoji1303] which part?
    I'm thinking [emoji33]
    He's like: ok yes.
    I'm thinking [emoji35]
I'm like: it's a 4-5 hour drive. What are you wanting to go see?
He's like: the water so I can stick my feet in it.
    I'm thinking: love him!
I'm like: Dad I'm on it.

    So GS HELP!

He's 6(?) had his bladder and prostrate removed this past year.
When he got into town last Friday, lives in Iowa, and I saw him after 4 years
I was like. [emoji33] when did he get old [emoji22].

I'm terribly afraid this is the last time I'm going to see him. His spark has all but disappeared.
All he wants to do is walk in the Gulf.
I have 0 clue where to go.
    We know it'll be chilly
Please don't tell anyone I'm scared

Might as well take him to the nicest Texas beach and go to SPI/PINS

You can reach north padre through Corpus Christi and save a little drive time.

For prettier beaches and things to do when your not in the sand, I would head way South to South Padre. But not from lets say March and April unless he likes to drink beer and chase young college chicks around. Pins in my opinion is not that nice a beach and I live here. South Padre is way nicer.

South Padre would be my first choice. If you drive to the north end of the island the road ends. The walk there may be a little tough on him. The dunes are kinda steep. South end has the boat cut and hotels and beach access is easier. Hilton is pretty nice. Pull out all the stops bro. My father will have been gone seven years come this March. I miss him everyday. Don't miss out on the opportunity to blow it out. Once hes gone hes gone.

4 hr 40min puts you on Surfside Beach from Van. Nice place. I don't think those other places are close enough if you are trying to do this trip in one day

I go to surfside quite often. If the winds are down enough, the water gets pretty blue. I would suggest this too, as you are far away enough from Galveston, and usually not tons of people.
