Fishing bait or artificial? Fishing Baffin or the mouth? Fished there last week and brought home 26 bags of fillets. I might could help

Never been. Fishing with friends.
Artificial for sure. Most likely wading. Said the cabin is 10 minutes from a seashore state park?
That help any? Still don't have any details. Waiting on a call as to where to meet them.

Probably launching at bird island. Paddle tails, little johns, and willow tails with 1/8th or 1/16th oz jig heads. Bone/ chartreuse top waters over grass and potholes early in the morning.

Wife and I had a rough last few days in the upper laguna,bird island area fished hard with live and dead bait, we threw everything under the sun just couldn’t get them to bite.

We ended up 4 trout ,1 red, 1 black drum. While drifting emerald hole this morning we drifted through huge schools of reds but they wouldn’t bite.

We are getting lunch and we might fish some where to night just have no clew where to go.

Pretty rough morning this morning. Got a late start and didn't get to fish where I wanted to. We finished with 4 trout and a red, I was back home by 10:30. Bad day of fishing still beats just about anything else.

We had trouble getting the reds to eat this weekend too. Typical this time of year, there has been a ton of boat traffic and fishing pressure come August. Good news is, school is about to start, better news is, hunting season is about to start. Reds will get right mid Sept into Oct when they start to do their thing.

Nautical seashore in corpus. Don't know where we will be fishing.
