100% depends on grade of granite, thickness, and edge. From cheap to sky is the limit.

This. All depends on color, style and thickness. Then you get into more money depending on the edge style you go with. Range can really vary...

We have been shopping. It ranges from about $48-$80/sqft, depending on what you pick and what edge you get.

Well, we can't afford the $200/ft stuff, and as such, have not seen anything near that high!!! If we did, we would just turn around and keep on looking elsewhere!

Yeah, I paid $180 but it's high grade.

I hear you Bisch.....I'll be on the lower end of that scale.

We have granite now but we both hate the color (came with the house). Is there any opportunity to re-purpose/sell the existing countertop?

I just remodeled kitchen and my granite installed was $17k. I did keep the granite we pulled and will use it in the bathrooms when I remodel them. the cost of granite really just depends on the grade of slab you buy.

You just need to talk to some fabricators and get out to a stone yard or two and look. Its way too volatile in pricing. Cheap can be as low as $25/ft craigslist special to $200/ft
