Absalute Diesel in Kingsland TX just did one for me. Pulled the heads and checked, installed ARP studs, deleted EGR, new oil cooler, stand pipes done, dummy plugs done, tune done, and don't remember what else. Great shop and was $2,700.00 out the door! That is their price if there is nothing else wrong with your vehicle. I am impressed with how much better it runs and the mileage is better too. Did have a problem with the IPR, new one from FoMoCo was bad from the factory. John from Absalute drove 2 hours on a sunday to my house and replaced it no charge.

I have 270K on mine and my oil cooler went out at 268K. Everything else is factory. Head gaskets went at 99K so warranty took care of that. Make sure you change the oil every 5K and everything else should be fine. I also agree with the EGR delete and APR studs. After that she should be rock solid. As far as replacing anything else. If it aint broke don't fix it. Injectors are a pretty easy DIY job and the oil cooler is also fairly straight forward.

If you have a crap mechanic who lets just say keeps swapping burnt up injectors, but never looks into why they keep getting burned up, it adds up. Now mechanic B sees a few burnt injectors and is like "huh, let's check the ficm voltage" and noticed that it's at 42 volts, fixed it and all of the new injectors are on their merry way.
