canon 10mm macro lens?

I am wanting to know if I should get a canon 100mm macro lens for my Rebel XSI. I can get it for about $885.00. I would like to know if anyone has one and if they are pleased with it, what the pros and cons are and if you recommend a different lens and why. Sorry for the questions. Thanks in advance for your input.

It's a great lens, but I would look at the sigma 105 macro or the older canon 100mm macro first. If you really like it and use it a lot, sell it and get a 100mm macro L.

I test drove the Sigma 150mm macro once. Awesome lens.

Thanks for the info guys. I will look into the renting part first. I think the 100mm i was looking at i could get for just under 900 dollars.
