You don't attend funerals with the primary concern of dress code as a priority...if I don't think I'm welcome anywhere in denim, not very likely I'll attend these days.

I've never not worn jeans to a funeral. Nobody ever said anything about it if I wasn't supposed to. Because.....well....because there's a dead person there and they're probably just as freaked out and sad about it as I was so I didn't realize what they were wearing either.

I've literally never in my life went to a funeral and thought "My God look at those starched jeans that guy has on. That's ridiculous!" Maybe if some dude was dressed like Santa Clause or had a dress and a wig on I'd pick him out of the crowd and laugh but other than that....can't say I've ever paid nobody much attention at a funeral.

You won't be the only one there wearing jeans.

Starched jeans, boots and a blazer is a Texas suit.

Jeans and a denim shirt at my brothers funeral. That's what he was buried in. He also wore suspenders which he was buried in.

I dress for what is expected at the occasion when it comes to funerals, weddings, etc. My minimum would be a sport coat, nice jeans, and boots for either but I'll wear a suit if needed. One thing to remember is any family event will have two or three people who are dressed way worse than you.

I wore a nice pair of jeans to one on Wednesday. It was in Ft. Stockton. I wasn't the only one there in jeans. Some of her family wore them as well.

I hope like heck that when I die, everyone shows up to my funeral in jeans and boots. I hate suits and ties with a passion and would never ever wear them again if it didn't cause a stir with my wife. She loves when I wear them, so I will on occasion. But hate em, and would hope that everyone knows me well enough to come dressed casual. I might even make it a requirement that my pall bearers wear jeans and boots

I went to a visitation awhile back and one of the lady’s sons was wearing a Manchester United soccer jersey, camo shorts, and crocs. I was in shock. That being said, starched jeans and a nice shirt is plenty acceptable for a southern funeral, and you’ll see others dressed the same way

Nice jeans, nice shirt, boots, and maybe a sports coat for me.

I could care less what others have to say about my attire. One thing is for sure, they wonít be saying squat about it to my face or theyíll join the deceased in the casket.

I don't own a suit, nor will I. Khakis and boots, or jeans and boots....either needs to be ironed and starched/creased because there's no use looking like a 5 year old.

No need to starch your skinny jeans though, because you already look like a moron.

Im not a suit guy, as I hate wearing a tie.

Jean and a button down with boots, or some times ill wear dress slacks and a dress shirt with nice shoes. All depends on the funeral.

At the end of the day I dont think it matter what you wear as long as your heart is in the right place.

A funeral is not about you. It is about respecting the one who passed and their family. If jeans show that respect so be it, if not - suit up.

No. If you have better, then wear it, show some respect. I figure if you thought enough to dress up in your wedding, then do the same here.

I think you dress to show respect for the dead. If all you have is jeans then wear your best ones. I also think every man should at least own one suit.

My opinion is, as long as you look nice it's fine. If somebody is worried about your appearance at the funeral, then their priorities are not right.

Also, you should at least have a pair of dark jeans, and that's what I'd wear.
