My taxi has plenty of capes and I just might do so once I finish up the Mancave.

Good luck this season. Have a feeling we are going to see a lot of toads from East Tx put down!

Man I saw a SUPER nice buck here in Spring yesterday at the intersection of 2920 and Stuebner Airline across from Hooks Airport. Actually there were two nice bucks but one was a 10-point, probably 16" - 17" wide with good tine length. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a 140" deer. I just couldn't hardly believe it. Got me all excited though.

I was headed west on the grand parkway Friday about 1pm and spotted a beautiful ten just east of spring. He was maybe 20 yards off of the highway grazing.

I hate to see all the woods being leveled for houses and half-empty shopping centers but it's amazing that there are still deer of that quality out there.

In terms of weather it seems like opening weekend of deer season is the new opening weekend of dove season. I sure am glad it’s here but this is the pits.

I heard the first gunshot of the season at 6:30. I’m sure it’s MLD.

Rained hard here but slacked up right at first light. say two little bucks and a decent 8pt.. Couple does. We were sitting a stand with low expectations because the wind was wrong for our big deer sets. was fun to be out and watching deer though.

Really looking forward to the wknd! Looks like a wet one but it's getting good at my spot. Hunted it the last 4 days and giving it a break. Target buck is slipping up closer and closer every hunt.

I always like to take a doe early then sit back and hunt some bone. Things worked out perfectly this evening and a nice fat doe hit the pine straw in Montgomery County.

I’m in Hardin county and only have about 7 acres of yard. I feed year round though. I have 3 active scrapes going right now. At 6:50 pm last night I had a really nice 8pt come through chasing does. Best deer that I have seen in many years here. Hopefully y’all are seeing the same activity. Good luck!

Good friend of mine knocked this toad of an 8 down in Henderson County. Shot it Tuesday and found him alive Wednesday late morning. Went in around lunch and sat near the spot he last layed eyes on him. 3 hrs in no sign so he walked around and found him not far from where he was sitting.

I put down this mature cull buck opening day. We have a couple decent bucks this year that the other guys are after, I just wanted to get this cull down as my target. Surprisingly only took 2 hunts, now I get to be camp cook and handle the pigs! 112" short tines and needed to go. He had some fat packed on him though.

Surprisingly hes been in the back around the harvested corn fields that didn't really make and hitting the feeders / hand corn hard. Bucks haven't made it up front to the acorn stands yet, which shocks me.

Iím having trouble getting in the stand as well with all this heat. This is the first year that I havenít been chomping at the bit. I donít know whatís up. I need a cool snap and Iíll get in the mood. Until then. My area will stay quiet. I have been smacking some teal though. Thatís probably it. I got my fix

I'll he sure to let him know Charlie! I'm chasing a big 7pt that is identical to his buck. Will be after him tomorrow through Sunday but looking like I am going to have reposition some stands to have a chance at him.
