We have a new rule on our place about this subject. If a trophy buck is hit and cannot be found quickly/bad shot placement known....a dog has to be called in. This is the right thing to do. I like the idea of chipping in and paying for a dog to be brought in. Make the guy pay ya’ll back. OP.....Call a dog after the guy leaves. Pay for it....When the deer is found then it is yours.
